The paint and possibly body itself might be a little cracked. The levers and knobs are there, but the plastic face is busted. Only has one string, electronics seem to be in place, might need dusting. How much would these two sell for? I may be willing to sell.

Hey, I have an EP-8T hollow-body, near perfect condition with a Checkmate 12 amp, also in near perfect condition. I would like to know how I go about finding what the approximate date of manufacture of this guitar is and how I would go about finding its present worth.

Keep checking back and I'll have an update on each guitar. One of the purposes of this blog is to document the stree value of these guitars. Good luck with your project, it sounds like it's going to look beautiful once you get it painted. Is there any place that i could find the street value of these guitars? i am looking at one used, but i dont know what to offer. It will get all new electroncs and machine heads as well as a new roller tune-o-matic. The control plate is missing as well as the pick guard so I will make new ones from pearloid stock, possibly in yellow. Planning on repainting it as bright red as I can find with bright yellow bindings and a big Scuderia Ferrari badge on the lower body. It is currently completely disassembled and being sanded to be repainted and refinished. Missing some parts and the finish is trashed. Thanks for the picture from Portugal, I like the color of your model better and it is in better condition. No craks, I still have the original knobs (but i've change to keep in tune).

The pickups are rewinded, they sound loud as a Gibson Les Paul, but with the sound of a Teisco. Check my about me page for the ebay listing. While guitars manufactured by Teisco were ubiquitous in their day, they are now very collectable. under several brand names including Silvertone, Jedson, Kent, Kingston, Kimberly, Tulio, Heit Deluxe and World Teisco. Teisco guitars were also imported in the U.S. Teisco guitars sold in the United States were badged "Teisco Del Rey" beginning in 1964. Teisco was founded in 1946 by renowned Hawaiian and Spanish guitarist Atswo Kaneko, and electrical engineer Doryu Matsuda. The Teisco brand name stands for 'Tokyo Electric Instrument and Sound Company'. It has the usual fussy switches and pots that you'll find on a 40 year old guitar that hasn't been restored. With the hole in the trussrod pocket it seems this guitar has spent part of it's life as a wall hanger. The Tremolo bar is also missing and the spring itself is missing. The guitar is in very good shape although it's missing the original nameplate and the bridge has been changed out for a modern style. The model number listed on the back nameplate is the EP-8T with the T in the model number for the tremolo. Though the names above reflect Matsumoku's involvement, many of the names were later sold to other companies which made completely different guitars in quality and sound. This is a late 1960's Teisco thinline Hollowbody guitar in the Gibson ES style. Washburn Guitars contracted Matusmoku to build most of its electric guitars from 1979 through 1985. Matsumoku built many early Greco guitars as well as Memphis, Vantage, Westbury, Westminster, Cutler, Lyle and Fell. Penney sold Matsumoku built Skylark guitars through its catalog division. Louis Music Company imported Matsumoku built Electra_Guitars. But no definite facts yet.Matsumoku was a factory that produced some very nice guitars.this from wikipedia."Matsumoku produced guitars, or parts of guitars, for Vox, Guyatone, FujiGen Gakki, Kanda Shokai ( Greco), Hoshino Gakki ( Ibanez), Nippon Gakki ( Yamaha), Aria and Norlin (parent company of Gibson.) American owned Unicord contracted Matsumoku to build most of its Univox and Westbury guitars. I have heard a few different stories, one older one being that Atlas was made by the Matsumoku factory, same as Teisco.
